About Us
The Community Church started in 1984. We are a community of ordinary people from all stages, ages and walks of life with extraordinary stories to tell because of the changes that Jesus Christ has brought to our lives.
Together we are learning to live Jesus shaped lives. We want to be passionate in our faith, brave in our circumstances, real in our contexts, living as a new spiritual family and building a legacy to pass on to the next generation the good things we have received.
We are part of the Catalyst Network of churches connected to the Resonate Hub. Catalyst is a movement of churches raising world changers who want to see God’s Kingdom fill the Earth. We’re passionate about seeing this in our churches, in our workplaces and through social action projects.

Our life together is focused on two things:
Our Sunday meetings are where we worship together, hear stories of what God is doing and look at what the Bible has to say about living life in the 21st century. We meet on Sundays at 10:30 am.
Our small group life – because life is better when shared! So we regularly gather in groups in our community where we can build relationship and experience family, while learning to be disciples, who are becoming more like Jesus.
How we live
Our culture defines who we are becoming and how we live that out together. Every group has a culture – we have chosen to define ours.
Real
We communicate with honour, integrity and transparency. Being real about who we are, releases freedom, and free people are joyful
Family
Together we are generous people with open hearts and hands. We make sacrifices for those in our community and operate with acceptance and compassion
Passionate
We devote time, energy, money and resources as an expression of our passion for God
Brave
We follow the Holy Spirit, being obedient and brave, taking risks of faith and stepping into what is only possible with God-moments
Legacy
We train, equip and release disciples who in turn make disciples. Seeing the greatness God has a place in each person and encouraging one another in God’s extraordinary purposes in our lives
Loving the Community
We believe the church should impact the wider community and serve it faithfully, so we also have teams that can be joined throughout the year to serve particular projects or events.
We are dedicated to training people who will be involved with starting new churches in the UK and beyond. Since The Community Church started, we have sent numerous people to start churches around the world. Our hope is that in the years to come we will have the privilege of sending many more to different parts of the globe.
