Serving Neighbours
Serving others is right at the heart of the Gospel. We seek to follow Jesus’ example. We recognise that God’s kindness, love and compassion, motivate and help us to serve our local communities in practical and spiritual ways.
It is a great joy and privilege to regularly pray for and serve individuals, families, schools, businesses and churches in our local area.
We love community and we love to be involved in serving our community whether it be support with local events. Here are just a few we get involved in : putting up a marquee and serving refreshments at the Wooburn Fete; the Remembrance Day Service and our own events like Carols on the Green.
We have a legacy of serving both the old and the young. Activities like our TLC, a weekly lunch club, became Connect Coffee Morning. There are opportunities to get involved in a weekly toddler group (Little Steps) and to help out in a local primary school. In fact, we are always looking to respond well to local need as it arises. We have been able to help with computer and tablet provision for local schools. We are involved in food support for families who face particularly challenging times.
Currently we are able to offer increased assistance at the local primary school following the guidelines laid down by a great UK charity called Transforming Lives for Good. You can have a look at their remarkable work nationally by following this link.
Serving others together is at our heart. If you would like more information about being part of a serving community or see a local need that you think we could help with, please get in touch with us here.
