What Can You Expect?

What are Sundays About? Our main aims on a Sunday are to encounter God and to learn how to follow Jesus better. During the service we have an informal time of sung praise and worship, followed by a talk. Once a month we celebrate Communion as a church family.

When you Arrive there will usually be someone outside the Chapel ready to greet you and to show you where we meet. People begin to gather from about 10.15am  for tea, coffee and conversation before the service starts. We finish at 12pm, when there’s another opportunity to enjoy refreshments, meet people and also pray with someone if you wish.

What are our Meetings Like? Our meetings are relaxed, informal and contemporary in style. We love worshipping together as a Church family, we value expression and make a priority of learning from the Bible. People sing out loud, praise God and raise their hands. We encourage people to participate and to tell us what they think God is saying to us as a community. We love to hear stories of what God is doing in people’s lives too.

 

Children & Young People

Children have their own activities during the morning service. All our Kids Church and Youth leaders are DBS-checked and provided with regular, comprehensive Safeguarding training.

If your children are under 4, you are welcome to keep them with you during the adult service. We don’t mind noise at all! Or, you might prefer to go through to the Chapel, where Kids Church meets, to play with a selection of baby and toddler toys. We are very relaxed about your choices.

Children aged 5-11 have their own Kids’ Church. The children enjoy worship with the main congregation until about 11am, and then leave with a couple of  leaders for a fun, creative teaching session. 

Young people aged 11 and over generally stay in the main church service to hear the talk, and a few times a month they are taken out by a leader for Rooted – our new Sunday morning group for Youth.

Having a safe place to make new friends outside of school can be a very positive and affirming experience for young people. So for those aged 11 and over, our Youth Group takes place on Friday nights during term time starting at 5pm. This is a gathering for the growing number of secondary school children attached to our church who come along to enjoy gaming, a choice of crafts, activities and a tuck shop. We also take Youth Group members to larger local Christian events from time to time, with the option of camping overnight for those who are interested. Small Groups

Small groups serve a key role in our life together as a church family. And at the Community Church we have a wide range of groups both during the week and in the evenings, including a Monday morning coffee and cake group that runs all year!

We believe that people of all ages should have an opportunity to learn about God their own way in a safe, fun and friendly environment. If you can’t make a Sunday we are keen for you to get involved in a group on an evening that works for you and in your area.

Where Can I Find You?

Our Sunday services currently take place in the church Hall, to the rear of The Chapel, The Green, Wooburn Green, HP10 0EF.
